Updated: Mar 11, 2019

The Louisiana Ethics Board told a woman running for the state Legislature she cannot use campaign contributions to pay for child care when she attends her own campaign events.

The request for child care compensation was made by Morgan Lamandre, an attorney for a sexual assault victim advocacy group in Baton Rouge. Lamandre is running for the House District 66 legislative seat, which Rep. Rick Edmonds, R-Baton Rouge, holds.
